Despite the silence, progress is still being made in the translation of Euthymius Zigabenus’ Commentary on the Epistles of Paul. I recently finished the Commentary on Philippians.

From beginning to end, my work on Philippians was plagued with a lack of motivation. I am not sure why, but regardless, I managed to make it through. Now that I have begun Colossians, my motivation is better, my progress is faster, and my excitement has returned. Again, I am not sure why, but I will take it nonetheless.

My research regarding the other aspects of this project, such as Nikiforos Kalogeras‘ fourth painting, indexing of manuscripts, and other things, has taken a back burner because life is busy. The blog remains bare and boring because of this, but I am satisfied that I have kept up a constant rate in my translation (in fact, it is slowly increasing as time goes on; keyword ‘slowly’). That is enough for me right now.

Forgive the infrequent posts, but know that I am still hard at work, as the Translation Progress Report shows. I should note that in the ‘Completion Summary’ portion of that report, the column called ‘Finish Date w/ Days Ahead’ is full of inaccurate data. I think I tried creating a completion forecast for each commentary, but I switched how I was doing it halfway through, so the dates became wonky. I am quite lazy to fix it right now, so it will stay that way for the indefinite future.
