Another short post to say that, two days ago, I completed translating Euthymius Zigabenus’ Commentary on St. Paul’s 2nd Epistle to the Thessalonians.

I have completed 9 out of St. Paul’s 14 Epistles, and am 76.5% finished the first draft of the complete translation. 1st Timothy is another larger commentary, so I will have to again get used to not making rapid progress in finishing off commentaries shortly after starting them. But that rapid progress has got me thinking about the editing phase once again and the difficulty that I’ll be facing in both correcting the errors that I made the first time around and tackling the hard portions of the Greek that I did not know what to do with. Some of the problems that I encountered when I was translating Galatians or even Romans may be easier now that I have been doing this for so long, but the difficulties that I faced last week are still going to be challenges that I will somehow have to manage. I think I said this before, but these patches of hard Greek may force me to learn the nuances of the language that I either never learned or have forgotten in the 11 years since I ended my studies. It might be a nice thing, but it will definitely be time consuming and challenging.
